Are you looking for a fantastic camp for summer 2017 that is exciting and different? Look no further! Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, located in Augusta, Georgia (just minutes from downtown), has just the camp for you!
The Phinizy Center’s Education Staff is now welcoming all rising 1st through 6th graders (ages 5-11) to come join us for a fun-filled week of outdoor exploration for our Swamp Explorers Summer Camp!
Our themes for camp this year are Swamp Critters and Bees,Birds & Butterflies! Our days at camp will be spent exploring our 1,100 acre beautiful backyard, Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Through guided nature hikes, hands-on science-based activities, and nature-themed arts and crafts designed to enhance learning, campers will get to know their natural surroundings, and themselves a little bit better.
The level of involvement in each topic will be determined by age so that all campers will feel comfortable and continually engaged throughout camp. Campers will be split into groups periodically, and activity length and depth will be geared accordingly.
Included in the weekly camp price, we will provide a camp t-shirt, daily lunches, snacks, and drinks, as well as a reusable water bottle for each camper to use during camp. The only thing parents have to provide is a curious little camper!
Every Friday of camp we will have a water-themed fun day where we will explore many aspects of our vital resources here on Earth. Because the campers are likely to get a little wet, we ask that campers wear water shoes that day (if you have them) and bring an extra change of clothes and a towel. Campers are welcome to wear swimsuits under normal attire, but it is not needed to enjoy the day.
Each child will have a cubby space to keep his or her own belongings during the week, so if parents feel it necessary to have an extra change of clothes on hand for their little one (just in case), please feel free to bring them in on the first day of camp.
Don’t let your young explorer miss out on this once in a lifetime outdoor learning experience! We look forward to seeing your young explorer soon!

Summer Camp Testimonials
“Thanks for all of your hard work putting these camps together. Alex had an outstanding week!”
“This camp was so wonderful – we can’t thank you enough! I have recommended it to so many people and we will be back next year?”
“Thanks to you and the team for a great camp! Andrew loved it and is ready to come back. He was excited every day for what would come next and loved the hands-on lessons to learn about and see the animals. We will be back to visit the swamp soon! Thank you!!”
“Thank you for a super experience for my son, Jen! He absolutely had the time of his life! From my end, y’all were so organized and I loved how you had a focused plan each day to really teach the kids something and not just “keep them busy.” Max came home and was able to tell me several things he learned very clearly each day and he just plain-old-had-fun! Great stuff. It was also such a luxury and convenience that you all just handled everything – sunscreen, lunch, you name it! So, both of us (camper and mama) couldn’t have been happier! Thanks again for providing such a super experience for Max this summer. See you again, soon, I am sure!”
“Thank-you Jen!! Lewis and Hannah had a great time this week. They have been pondering everything you all taught them and were glad to make friends there. I really enjoyed our conversation today! With gratitude.”
