Kelsey Laymon Research Scientist

Kelsey received her Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her undergraduate research involved temperature dependent sex determination of the diamondback terrapin and several species of sea turtles. She also helped conduct studies focusing on the how nutrient deficiencies affected the structural consistency of sea urchin exoskeletons. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking and training her macaw and cockatoo.
