Ruth Mead Senior Environmental Educator
Ruth Mead received her Bachelor of Science in Forestry from North Carolina State University and has several years of field study in ornithology at Pensacola Junior College. She has more than 20 years of experience as a hands-on field scientist and 13 years as a Phinizy Center educator. In addition, Ruth is a curriculum facilitator for Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), WOW! The Wonders of Wetlands, Healthy Water Healthy People, and the Urban Watershed. She also has curriculum training in Georgia’s Native Waters, Native Seasons: Georgia’s Flora & Fauna, Flying WILD, Project WILD & Project WILD Aquatic, Project Learning Tree, WET in the City, and Conserve Water. Ruth has been a Georgia Adopt-A-Stream (AAS) trainer for over 10 years and is currently on the GA AAS advisory board. In addition, she is a Georgia Master Naturalist Coordinator.
