Become a Phinizy Center Eco Explorer!
Eco Explorers will get to walk across our beautiful floodplains boardwalk while you learn a little history of the non-profit organization and the unique background with the City of Augusta’s wastewater. Then you will jump into some waders and dip net for bugs and learn why identifying these aquatic macro invertebrates are so important for all life that depends on water. After getting a closer look at bugs, then you will get a special behind the scenes, up close and personal tour of the Phinizy Center’s Research Lab where you will get to interact with a real live Research Scientist and learn about all the cool projects they are working on. We will then conclude with lite refreshments and a give you time to ask questions about our different departments.
Please be prepared for this experience with comfortable closed-toe walking shoes, and weather appropriate clothing. We will be traveling around the park by foot. This experience requires a minimum number of people to run and if the minimum isn’t met the tour will be canceled. The max number we can book per session is 15 people. This is a 1.5 – 2.0 hour experience where you will be mainly outdoors.

Cancellation Clause: in the event a session does not meet the minimum participant numbers within 48 hours of the scheduled experience, the experience will be cancelled and participants will be notified by email and by phone.
