Jacob Lott

Jacob grew up in Augusta with a love for the outdoors, exploring and catching all fish, bugs, and animals he could get his hands on. He graduated from Augusta University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, but realized his calling was research and teaching. As a student, Jacob was a Phinizy Center Research Intern and fieldwork helped him fall back into love with nature. Jacob is a naturalist with fish, macroinvertebrate, and diatom identification experience. He is one of 4 macroinvertebrate (EPT-East) taxonomists certified through the Society of Freshwater Science in Georgia. As Research Technician, Jacob leads fieldwork operations, equipment maintenance, data management, and project reporting. Outside of work Jacob can be found hiking, golfing, or fishing.
