Forest Communities: Basic Dendrology Hikes
Hikes are offered weekly on Tuesdays from October 6th – December 1st (no hike November 24th) | 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Join Phinizy Center Education staff and invited field trip leaders as we offer Forest Communities: Basic Dendrology Hikes to study basic tree identification. There will be a total of 7 hikes. Field study runs from 9 am until approximately 1 pm. Participants are required to meet at the different forest locations each week.
These hikes will introduce participants to the fascinating world of Eastern Forest Communities while enhancing skills needed for basic field identification. We will visit some of the many great forest communities in the CSRA. Participants will gain a better appreciation for our irreplaceable habitats as we explore basic plant morphology, nomenclature, community types, and much more.
Come be a part of an exciting adventure!
The cost is $15 per person per hike. Advanced registration is required.
Registration for each hike is separate. Participation is limited so register early!
If the hike you would like to join is full, please email ruth.mead@phinizycenter.org to be added to the waitlist, or for more information.
